The third edition of this Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) will begin online on 25 May, with face-to-face sessions taking place from 22 to 26 June at the University of Minho in Guimarães, Portugal.

The University of Minho invites Arqus academics and students to collaborate in the co-creation and delivery of the initiative “Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) Mentoring Programme – Turning Ideas into Businesses”.

This initiative is particularly suited to those who wish to develop and refine a business idea and transform knowledge and technology into successful products and start-ups. Participants will have the opportunity to present and further develop a business idea or start-up project during the programme.

Each partner institution will be responsible for a group of 2 to 4 students enrolled in the BIP and may also contribute to course design and/or teaching by providing materials and tutors for both the online and face-to-face components. Together, the partners will form a network supporting future BIPs and further joint activities within university innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems.

A BIP is an innovative format of learning, teaching and training that combines virtual and physical mobility to provide an intensive international learning experience. It offers an opportunity to co-create curricula and activities through close collaboration between partner institutions.

This BIP specifically aims to encourage the exchange of experiences and good practices in transforming ideas into businesses, covering the following stages:

  • Innovation, creativity and value proposition
  • Customer development and market analysis
  • Business model design
  • Business evaluation, creation, launch and management
