Laser nanophotonics research and services using femtosecond laser system Pharos

Research and services are carried out by using:
1. Light conversion femtosecond laser system Pharos. 6W average power diode-pumped high repetition rate femtosecond Yb:KGW laser. Maximum repetition rate is 200 kHz. Central wavelength 1030 nm, pulse duration 300 fs, pulse energy to 0.4 mJ.

Ultrashort pulses investigation with nonlinear methods

Measurement are performed using Spectra Physics Ti:sapphire femtosecond system with noncollinear parametric amplifier, ultrashort pulses IR radiation source, high dynamic range Andor CCD camera, pulses duration meter Grenouille and unique set of diagnostic for space -time and spectral characteristics.

Measurements with scanning electron microscope

Hitachi Tabletop electron microscope TM-1000 is used. Maximum magnification is 10000, maximum sample size 70 mm in diameter, maximum sample height 20 mm.

Measurements with optical profilometer Sensofar PLμ2300

Profilometer Sensofar PLμ2300 with a computer and the proper software are used.

Ultrafast spectroscopy research: femtosecond multi - pulse absorption spectroscopy

The equipment set consists of: 1) Regenerative Ti:sapphire amplifier of femtosecond pulses with 30W solid-state pump laser Libra-USP-HE and unique set of spectroscopy equipment and diagnostic. Central wavelength of the amplified pulses is 800 nm, maximum pulse repetition rate 1 kHz, pulse duration < 50 fs. Pulse energy at 1 kHz repetition rate is > 3.5 mJ. It has an option of switchover between 505 fs pulse and 11010 fs pulse amplification modes.

Microfabrication with femtosecond 6W average power laser

Microfabrication is performed using Aerotech mid motion five coordinates precision positioning module with unique set of equipment and diagnostic and Light Conversion femtosecond Yb:KGW laser Pharos.

Optical microscope Olympus BX51 with Qimaging CCD camera microPublisher 5.0 and computer are used.

Service is performed using the XUV detection set, which consists of: 1) UV detection and registration system. Spectral range is 1-310 nm, resolution 0.1 nm. 2) Vacuum chamber with a pump. Inner chamber dimensions are 610×810×175 mm. The pressure is maintained in the 1x10-7 - 1000 mbar range.

Femtosecond laser microfabrication

The service is performed with the femtosecond laser microfabrication set. It consists of a Pharos femtosecond laser and the Aerotech large motion five-coordinate precision positioning module using a unique set of measurement and diagnostics.

Measurements of the laser-induced damage threshold of optical elements with the nanosecond diode-pumped Nd:YAG laser

Measurements are performed with the laser-induced damage threshold (LIDT) test station, nanosecond Nd:YAG laser with single longitudinal mode and the equipment set for measuring laser radiation temporal, spatial and energetic parameters.

Measurements with the laser-induced damage threshold (LIDT) test station No.2

A laser source is needed for the measurements. The LIDT station can be used at a laser pulse repetition rate from 1 Hz to 10 kHz. Measurements can be performed for laser radiation of 760 – 840 nm, 380 - 420 nm wavelengths. Automated positioning of the sample in X and Y directions in the target plane (range of positioning ≥ 70 mm).

Measurements of damage threshold of optical elements using Inolas SpitLight Hybrid III laser

Measurements can be performed for laser pulse repetition from 1 Hz to 100 KHz and for 1030-1064 nm, 515-532 nm and 343-355 nm laser radiation wavelengths.

The measurements are performed using the total integrated scattering measurement station with an Ekspla NL202 nanosecond laser. Scatter is measured in relation to the OceanOptics standard.

Measurements of luminescence under stationary and quasistationary conditions and with nanosecond time resolution in UV-VIS spectral region

The nanosecond luminescence spectroscopy setup is used for luminescence measurements in UV-VIS spectral regions. Luminescence measurements under stationary and quasi-stationary conditions, and with nanosecond time resolution in a spectral range of 180-850 nm can be performed using this setup.

Measurements of luminescence under stationary and quasistationary conditions in NIR spectral region

NIR spectrometer with InGaAs-based CCD camera is used for luminescence measurements in NIR spectral region.

Spatially-resolved photoluminescence measurements by scanning near-field optical microscope (SNOM)

Scanning near-field optical microscope (SNOM) is used to study spatial distribution of photoluminescence. The SNOM probe with the aperture smaller than the wavelength is placed in contact with the sample.

Spatially-resolved photoluminescence measurements by confocal microscope
