Changes in Study Regulations

Sukurta: 21 April 2020

The Senate of Vilnius University approved the temporary changes in the general procedures regulating studies, which will be in force until the end of the spring semester of the 2020-2021 academic year:

  • The methods, procedures, assessment criteria and accounting requirements, applicable to assessment of study achievements within the course of the course unit (module) and during the final accounting established in the descriptions of the course units (modules) and introduced during the first lecture, may be changed if it is necessary to achieve learning outcomes. The coordinating teacher must inform students, the study programme committee and the administration about these changes. Students must be notified of any changes related to the exam at least 7 days in advance.
  • The assessment of learning achievements could be conducted in the following forms: writing assessments, writing-oral assessments, and oral assessments. Oral assessments must be recorded.
  • At the request of a student, a head of unit will be able to postpone the deadline of study payment for the first and second-cycle, full-time and professional studies, excluding residency, until the end of the spring semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. Deadlines for payment for residency studies will be set by the head of the main academic unit;
  • The lecturer of the study subject (module) or the chair of the committee can enter study results (assessment) of the study subject (module) on Vilnius University Information System within a longer period than previously specified: the entry in the electronic journal can be made within 10 working days since the date of the exam (credit);
  • The clarification of the Cum Laude and Magna Cum Laude diploma criteria: in accordance to the Senate resolution, the criteria of participance at a conference is amended by an additional alternative: the organisers' confirmation of the acceptance of the student's presentation to the conference. The conference must take place before the meeting of the study committee of Vilnius University Senate, where the applications for the Magna Cum Laude diploma are considered.
